CANCELED

As with many things in the past week, we are canceling the 2020 Big Sky GeoCon that was to be held in Missoula in April. You will receive a full refund for your registration fees and workshop fees. If you paid with credit card, the amount will be credited to your credit card. If you paid with a check, we will send your refund in a check format.

I would suggest that you cancel your hotel reservations. The Holiday Inn in Missoula has been very gracious in not charging MAGIP any penalties in light of the current situation.

We know that some of you have put work into presentations, and we want to acknowledge that and thank you. Hang on to it, we will look forward to seeing it at some point in the future.

As far as the workshops, we will send out the presenter’s contact information to those who had signed up for the workshops. The presenters may wish to do those in a different way, but that will be up to them.

Please feel free to contact myself, or any Board member if you do have questions.

I appreciate your patience as we work out any other details and questions that arise.

Be safe, be kind and stay well.

Updating Maps by Local Agencies

Digital maps route millions of people everyday, but what happens when the data is not sufficient? How can local agencies help improve these maps and therefore help drivers arrive at their destinations, help packages get delivered, or help emergency responders provide help? HERE has been providing digital maps for over 30 years and will share a case where feedback from the county fire department led to improvements that will allow the fire department, along with ALL other users of HERE's maps, to better reach their destinations.
